The "Running Man" star Kim Jong Kook is receiving backlash for his recent sexist remark, which he said while describing the physical attributes of his ideal woman. The comment offended several netizens.
The "Running Man" viewers were surprised when Kim Jong Kook shared he prefers short women over tall ones. The episode aired on April 30, Sunday and Jong Kook mentioned that men usually prefer to date women who are not tall.
He made the statement in response to a guest star, Sistar's Hyorin, who was lamenting over her short height. The said cast member went on to say that he himself would prefer to date someone of Sistar's Hyorin's height.
The "Running Man" cast member even said that he does not consider a tall stature lady as a "woman."
"Running Man" viewers were highly disappointed over Kim Jong Kook's statements. Netizens slammed the singer for his insensitive remark, claiming the comment to be sexist and discriminatory, All Kpop reported.
However, some fans supported for the cast member of "Running Man", they defended the musician explain that he only shared his personal preference and it was not to degrade all tall women.
In other news, in the same episode, the fellow cast members of Kim Jong Kook: Haha, Song Ji Hyo, and Yang Se Chan were sent on a foodie mission in Taiwan. The three said cast members were given the task to have some of Taiwan's famous local delicacies such as duck blood and stinky tofu.
According to Soompi, Song Ji Hyo not only took a bite of the duck blood dish, she even slurped the stinky tofu soup amazing the other members.
