Google has officially confirmed the imminent rollout of Android O beta program as the Android Nougat beta has just concluded. Consequently, no further Nougat updates will be available for Pixel and Nexus devices in the coming days.
All those Android users who had opted in for the latest updates will receive the current public version of Nougat firmware on their device, ahead of the Android O beta rollout. However, if you have missed the OTA notification for the latest public build of Nougat software then Google advises you to download the latest full OTA image for your device and sideload it.
As Google has already released the Android O Developer Preview in March, all registered members of the Android beta program are expected to get the first Android O beta update sometime later this month.
Here's what Google had to say regarding its forthcoming beta update for Android O:
"Thank you for your interest in the Android Beta Program! The beta for Android Nougat has concluded, and all devices that were opted in have been updated to the current public version. If you are still running a beta version of Nougat, you ma download the latest full OTA image for your device and sideload it. This will not wipe your device. We'll update this site when the Android O Beta Program begins."
Meanwhile, speculation is rife that the Android O Developer Preview 2 may release at the upcoming Google I/O conference, which is set for 17 May - 19 May. It is further rumoured that the Android O beta program could launch soon after the conference.
