Baahubali: The Conclusion (Baahubali 2), one of the most awaited films of 2017, will have a special screening at the Cannes Film Festival 2017. The makers of Baahubali tweeted on Saturday night that both Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion would be screened at the Cannes 2017.
Baahubali: The Beginning was screened at the Marche du Film (Film Market) section at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in the French Riviera on May 20. Baahubali 2, the sequel of India's biggest movie franchise, will be screened at the same location at 8:30 pm on Sunday.
The Prabhas and Rana Daggubati-starrer movie was released in some global markets on April 28 and it sweeped the box office like a tsunami internationally. The makers have planned to release the film in China, Japan, Taiwan and few other foreign countries. The special screening at the Cannes 2017 will give the international distributors a good look at the Indian epic.
Baahubali 2 was released in 8,000+ screens across the globe in April and made a historic collection. Baahubali 2 has collected over Rs. 1,500 crore gross at the worldwide box office in three weeks.
Based on the promotion of the movie, people were very sure about the magnitude of its opening day business. In just four days, Baahubali 2 became the third all-time highest-grossing Indian movie. The movie has broken the lifetime records of PK and Dangal, which are the top two highest-grossing Indian movies of all time with lifetime collections of Rs 792 crores and Rs 730 crores, respectively.
The magnum-opus project, which has gained a lot of attention across the globe, was one of the most anticipated films of 2017 as the fans were eagerly waiting to know why 'Kattappa killed Baahubali' in the prequel. Baahubali 2-The Conclusion is an epic fantasy, produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under the banner Arka Media Works.
The film directed by SS Rajamouli stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Nasser and Sathyaraj in important characters.
