The Warisan Merdeka project, Merdeka PNB118, will receive supply from Carrier (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, after the company was given the contract on Tuesday.
Upon completion of the Merdeka PNB118 project, the tower would be the tallest tower in Malaysia, rivaling the Petronas Twin Towers. The 630-metre tower is expected to be completed by 2020.
In a report by New Straits Times, Carrier, will supply the AquaEdge 19XR two-stage centrifugal chillers, which uses advanced two-stage compressors and heat transfer pipes with a three-dimensional enhancement.
Carriers is a world leader in air conditioning, heating and refrigeration solutions.
Carrier Malaysia managing director, Victor Yu, said that the company lauded Merdeka PNB118 for taking the stance to use energy-efficient technologies to construct an environmentally friendly landmark in Malaysia.
"We are proud to leverage on our track record on large scale projects and provide an advanced product portfolio that produces inventive climate solutions with less environmental impact," Yu said, as reported.
In the past, Carrier won supplying contracts for PNB Perdana Hotel and Suites in the Park, KL Tower, Holiday Inn Glenmarie and University Malaysia Pahang.
The tower will house Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) group of companies, occupying 60 floors with 23 rentable office floors, and a 17-storey luxury hotel with 236 rooms. The tower will also have multiple sky lobbies and an observation deck.
In October last year, NST reported that Merdeka PNB118 will be part of the three phases of construction of the Warisan Merdeka project.
