The first-ever footage for highly anticipated sequel to 'Jurassic World' will be released soon, if a key cast member is to be believed.
As noted by Jurassic Outpost, actress Daniella Pineda, whose character in the fifth 'Jurassic Park' movie is yet to be named, revealed in a AMA ('Ask Me Anything') session on Twitter that a teaser for the movie will drop soon. Her reply was to user Matt M, a writer at scified.com.
Daniella also wrote a number of posts on the social networking site saying how excited she was after seeing footage from the untitled Jurassic World sequel. She said it gave her shivers, while also noting that production had wrapped in the UK, and Hawaii shoots are set to begin.
She tweeted shortly, "When you look at the footage, it FEELS like the biggest movie ever made. It's going to be VERY special. Trust me, and I hate EVERYTHING." This isn't really a surprise considering J.A. Bayona's track record. He did direct the captivatingly emotional 'A Monster Calls' last year.
Pineda was also asked about the number of animatronic dinosaur models she saw on sets, to which she replied "A few REALLY GOOD ONES." Colin Trevorrow had confirmed that opportunities for the use of more animatronic dinosaurs were written into the script of the movie during the planning stage itself.
Fans had complained about the overabundant use of digital dinosaurs in 'Jurassic World' and were saddened that the production chose to ignore the first three films in the series which had a healthy balance between robotics and CGI.
Pineda confirmed that Jurassic World 2 will be darker and scarier, and is being made in the spirit of the original 1993 Spielberg film. She also added that her character in the film will feel fresh and "original" and is a "Bad a**." Unfortunately, she had no idea of the final title of the movie, which in all likelihood won't be 'Jurassic World' with two claw slashes, like the recent banners and posters suggest.
In any case, there are many reasons to get excited about the fifth entry in the 'Jurassic Park' franchise. The fact that Jeff Goldblum is returning as Dr. Ian Malcolm should be worth the price of admission alone. More animatronics, a submarine attack, thunderstorms and a scarier tone are icings on what is shaping up to be a most delicious cake from J.A. Bayona, like the one below.
Jurassic World 2 is scheduled for release on June 22, 2018.
