Singapore flag carrier is aiming to boost its network in the Scandinavian region with the addition of Stockholm bound flights.
Singapore Airlines' flights to Sweden's capital will boost connectivity between Southeast Asia and Northern Europe and will complement its existing flights to Copenhagen in Denmark. It will also provide a direct link between Sweden and Singapore.
This is in line with SIA's mission of meeting the increasing demand for travel between Southwest Pacific and Northern Europe.
Flight SQ362 will be operating five times a week from Singapore Changi Airport to Stockholm via Moscow. The first flight to Stockholm departed Singapore Changi Airport on May 30 at 12:33 a.m. and arrived at Stockholm's Arlanda Airport at 08:59 a.m. the same day.
The first flight was served with Airbus A350-900. The aircraft offers passengers improved travelling experience with features such as higher ceilings, larger windows, an extra wide body and lighting designed to reduce jet lag. It has 253 seats, 42 of which are in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy Class and 187 in Economy Class.
In a statement, SIA said the A350 forms a key part of the Airline's fleet in the years ahead and has enabled the introduction of new services such as non-stop flights between Singapore and San Francisco, helping to boost connectivity to and through the Singapore hub.
The new flight destination is also part of the joint venture between SIA and Star Alliance partner Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) that took effect in 2013 covering flights between Scandinavia and Singapore.
