A lot of things went wrong with former Produce 101 trainee and rapper Ha Min-ho. He had allegedy tried to bed underage fans who were still in high school and had also allegedly bullied and sexually harassed his ex-girlfriend in middle school. Following the discoveries, Ha Min Ho was made to leave the show; his contract terminated. Han Min-ho has now apologised publicly for his indecent behaviours in the past.
As noted by Soompi, Han Min-ho took to Instagram on June 20 to post an official apology about his past behaviour. He began his statement thus, "Hello, this is former 'Produce 101 Season 2' contestant Ha Min Ho."
The former 'Produce 101' season 2 member continued, "First of all, I sincerely apologise to everyone who was hurt by the recent controversy. I feel responsible for my improper behaviour so I am taking the time to reflect on my actions. I'm sorry for causing so much trouble."
He reflected on his inconsiderate nature in his younger days saying, "In middle school and high school, I was an immature student who lacked consideration for others. I was just a big frog in a small pond that lived in his own little world. I bragged that I did music, and I thought of myself very highly whenever I was praised for being in a dance group. I also acted rashly every time I was romantically interested in someone."
He added that he hadn't corrected his ways when he became a trainee, saying, "These immature actions continued on even after I joined 'Produce 101.' I said some inappropriate things to my fans and I was so focused on trying to gain love and popularity instead of reflecting on whether I even deserved this love. After reading people's comments on my social media accounts, I realized how hurt and angry they were, and I had sleepless nights for a few weeks because I was so ashamed."
There was another controversy that Ha Min Ho had changed his name in various social media platforms to Yoo Seon-ho who is another contestant in 'Produce 101' Season 2. Addressing those allegations he said, "However, it is not true that I changed my Facebook account name to 'Yoo Seon Ho' to target the trainee. I did not talk dirty, verbally harass, or ostracize anyone in middle school. I never called a female student a slut, and I did not sexually harass or try to sleep with a student much younger than me. These are false accusations, but I am still holding responsibility for everything since they have all stemmed from my mistakes."
Concluding his message, Ha Min-ho said, "I am very sorry to those who had voted for me, and I apologize to the Mnet staff for causing disruption to their program. I will self-reflect for the rest of my life. However, I do want to say that I have received quite a few defaming comments based on misunderstandings", adding, "I will try my best to become a more careful and mature person. Thank you for reading my long message. Sincerely, Ha Min Ho."
