Six-member Korean idol group Apink topped July's brand reputation index for girl bands. The Korea Institute for Corporate Reputation analyzed 65.46 million pieces of big data from June 6 to July 7 based on participation, media, communication and community indices.
Apink took the top spot with 6.17 million, surging by 45.82 percent from fifth place score of 4.23 million in June.
The group released their new album "Pink Up" in June and became the target of death and bomb threats before the album was released.
Mamamoo placed second with a score of 6.12 million, an increase of 58.23 percent from their June's score of 3.87 million. They released their new album "Purple" last month.
JYP Entertainment's TWICE grabbed third place with 6.05 million, plummeting by 53.12 percent compared to their June score of 12.9 million.
According to the institute, Apink and Mamamoo battled it out for first place but the former's high media index gave them an edge. TWICE, on the other hand, dropped in the rankings because of their activities abroad.
Keywords associated with Apink are "comeback," "Five" and "intimidation" with a positive rate of 53.67 percent.
Black Pink got fourth place with a score of 5.72 million, followed by T-ara, 4.72 million; Cosmic Girls, 4.2 million; 9Muses, 3.94 million; Stellar, 3.64 million; AOA, 3.35 million; and Red Velvet, 3.24 million.
