Rumours of a volcano laying waste to Isla Nublar, has been confirmed as fact. The producer of 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' revealed that the upcoming movie will feature a volcanic eruption that will threaten the inhabitants of 'Jurassic World.'
As pointed out by Jurassic Outpost, 'Fallen Kingdom' producer Frank Marshall took to Twitter on July 10, to confirm that the J.A. Bayona movie had wrapped. He said: "Pretty wild we just wrapped a movie and a musical, both with volcanoes in them, both on the same weekend! @JurassicWorld @buffettmusical."
There have been various leaked photos floating in the internet, showing lava rocks in the filming sites for 'Fallen Kingdom' in Hawaii. Marshall's words come as an official confirmation of the fact. It was learned that 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' will be a rescue mission where Owen, Claire and others land on the fictional Isla Nublar, to bring the dinosaurs back to mainland, like in 'Spielberg's 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park.' This is to apparently save as many of them from the wrath of a volcanic explosion.
If one recalls, the original poster for 'Fallen Kingdom' also suggested a volcanic eruption through glowing fiery embers surrounding the logo. Some of the merchandising character posters featuring Chris Pratt, Blue, the Velociraptor and Rexy, the T-Rex also had that same feature.
Seeing the heroes race against time to save the dinosaurs while an active volcano rushes towards them should look incredible in the big screen. Such kind of large-scale visuals have never appeared on a 'Jurassic Park' film before.
However, it was also revealed by Colin Trevorrow that future 'Jurassic Park' movies won't be just about dinosaurs in an island, but move beyond that limited scope, into the outside world, where they would come into conflict with humans.
So, it remains to be seen, how much actual screen-time is devoted to Isla Nublar and to the volcano plot. 'Fallen Kingdom' is also supposed to be darker than its predecessors. So, it might be expected that there will be dinosaur deaths featured in the movie, possibly due to the volcanic eruption.
'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' releases on June 22, 2018.
