It has already been reported that EXO's Kai will play the lead in Andante, a new classroom drama produced by KBS. Kai will be playing a high schooler, Lee Si Kyung in this pre-produced drama. Interestingly, this is his first full-length drama, he has earlier starred in web drama "Choco Bank," and "EXO Next Door" and the recent "Seven First Kisses."
The drama is a coming-of-age story about a high school student Shi-kyung (Kai) who moves to the countryside with his family. He becomes a suspicious student and experience a lot of unfamiliar situations to before discovering the real live ecosystem.
The rest of the star cast includes Baek Chul Min, Lee Ye-hyun, Kim Jin Kyung, Sung Byung Sook, Jun Mi Sun, and Kim Kwang Sik. The technical side of Andante included director Park Ki Ho of "Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek" and writers Park Sun Ja and Kwon Ki Kyung of the "Sharp" series. The drama will have 16 episodes and will be aired on KBS 1TV in October.
Meanwhile, Kai is also playing the lead role in an upcoming Japanese drama "Spring Has Come" (working title). This is the first time a non-Japanese actor is playing the lead in a J-drama. The series is based on a Japanese novel of the same name and Kai is likely to appear as a Korean cameraman. Written by Kuniko Mukōda and produced by channel WOWOW, the plot revolves around family life in a modern society.
With Kai as the leading man can we expect few intense dance moves!
