Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo recently shocked their fans around the world by confirming their relationship. The two announced that they will tie the knot on October 31.
The duo shot to fame after starring in Descendants of the Sun. In the hit drama, Joong Ki plays the lead role as Captain Yoo Shi Jin, and Hye Kyo reprises the role of doctor named Kang Mo-Yeon. Though the couple repeatedly denied the dating reports, people around them had a hint of their blossoming love.
The pair's Descendants of the Sun co-star Cho Tae Kwan was one such person. In the hit show, he reprised the role of Daniel Spencer.
During an appearance on Radio Star, Tae Kwan talked about Joong Ki and Hye Kyo's relationship on the set of the drama. He revealed: "At the time, I didn't know they were dating but I heard the director telling them to really try liking each other with sincere feelings. In response, Joong Ki told him, 'We're already doing well on our own.' Now I think of it, they really were doing well on their own."
Meanwhile, during an interview, the Running Man star's father talked about their wedding. He said, as quoted by Soompi: "[Song Joong Ki] is at the best age to get married so I'm glad he's engaged. As parents, we've decided to respect our son's decision. People were saying I was against their marriage, but that's a misunderstanding."
He added: "Now that my son will be having a stable family after marriage, I hope he works even harder to become an actor who can also be responsible for his household. I think my son will be able to achieve that."
