Nintendo has officially confirmed that it will be opening pre-orders for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) Classic Edition starting August with a promise to supply enough units, learning from last year's NES Classic Edition shortage.

Nintendo on Wednesday announced that SNES Classic Edition pre-orders will begin in the US next month. Following the awful supply shortage of NES Classic Edition at launch in 2016, the Kyoto-based video game company has guaranteed the anticipating fans to get enough SNES Classic Edition units on its 29 September launch.

In a Facebook post of Nintendo's official page, Nintendo said: "We appreciate the incredible anticipation that exists for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, and can confirm that it will be made available for pre-order by various retailers late this month".

Since Nintendo did not drop the exact date of the pre-orders, fans should begin keeping tabs on physical video game stores and e-commerce platforms, including but not limited to Walmart, GameStop, Target, Amazon, Game, Argos, Very ShopTo, Tesco Direct and Smyths Toys, among many others.

The company has not yet revealed the price so it is good to know it first before purchasing a SNES Classic Edition to avoid overpriced items. Price should play around US$59.99 only.

The SNES Classic Edition includes 21 best titles in the pipeline out of Super Nintendo's vast classic game library. Star Fox 2, which has never been released to the public, will be making its debut soon.
