Actor Yoo Seung-ho started his career at a very young age of seven when he appeared in the drama "Daddy Fish" in 2000.
Since then the 23-year-old star has been working as an actor, appearing in films and dramas except when he enlisted in the army in 2013 and was discharged the following year.
He recently starred in the drama "The Emperor: Owner of the Mask," which aired from May to July in which he played a mature role.
Yoo Seung-ho admitted that he finds it hard to separate from his stereotypes.
"I felt difficulty getting out of stereotyped images accumulated through work I had done during my childhood, but this time, I was able to fully immerse myself in the role I played and have great confidence in acting," he told The Chosun Ilbo.
His list of TV projects includes the dramas "Love Letter," "Precious Family," "A Sad Love Story," "The King & I," "The Legend," "Queen Seondeok," "Flames of Desire" and "Remember: War of the Son."
Yoo Seung-ho wishes that he will do romantic comedies and light melodramas in the future.
"I want to take on a variety of different genres and characters to keep my acting career going and further growing," he explained.
He enlisted in the Korean military at 20 and that's when his desire to further his acting career increased.
"Ironically, while I was serving in the military, my longing for acting actually became greater. Whenever I watched TV programs during my spare time, I kept thinking I should go back to where I was," he said.
Stars long to reach stardom and become very famous. But for Yoo Seung-ho, his aim is to have a stable career that will last for years.
"I do not expect instant stardom. What I want is to have a long career in acting. I have to admit that it's good to enjoy popularity because a film or drama was successful, but I don't do this to earn fame," he said.
