India: 4 Spanish tourists killed in accident in Andhra Pradesh; many injured

Four Spanish tourists, including a woman, and an Indian driver died after a mini bus in which they were travelling was involved in a head-on collision with a tanker in Andhra Pradesh, India early on Saturday.

Reports said the accident took place in the Eedigapalle village of Punganur Mandal in the Chittoor district. The district police said that 11 Spanish tourists were travelling from Putthaparthi to Puducherry when the accident happened.

The authorities added that the remaining seven people sustained minor injuries and they were taken to a local government hospital for medical treatment.

The Indian Express reported that the tourists were in the country to see the development activities initiated by the Rural Development Trust run by a Spanish group in a village in Anantapuramu district.
