Chelsea have reportedly increased their interests in signing Arsenal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to reports by The Telegraph.
The blues manager Antonio Conte, who earlier this week was reassured that at least three more new players would arrive at Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes, is understood to be desperate to signthe Arsenal midfielder.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, who was at one point deemed to be the next big thing in British football, has just one year left on his contract and had been linked with a move across the capital earlier this summer, but according to the Daily Mail the Premier League champions are now ready to 'intensify their efforts' with a bid of around £25 million.
As had been reported earlier by The Telegraph, progress between Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Arsenal over a new contract has suddenly faltered after the England winger became frustrated that he has still not been offered a new deal.
And according to recent reports by The Express, it is believed that the England international has rejected the new offer.
And with the recent developments at the Emirates stadium, there is deeper competition at the London club, with midfielders Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey having finished the season in those two central positions in midfield.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is also faced with the dilemma of Mohamed Elneny and Francis Coquelinwho with their performances last season are also pushing for more game time.
Jack Wilshere is also now back from his loan spell at AFC Bournemouth– although he has always had an injury struggle and given his repertoire won't start every game this season. He has been recovering from an ankle injury and facing an even more uncertain future – while Spain international Santi Cazorla is currently also sidelined due to an injury.
The Clues Italian manager had bought the likes ofTiémoué Bakayoko, Alvaro Morata and Antonio Rüdiger during the summer, but with uncertainties over the futures of players like Diego Costa and most recently, Eden Hazard, having also sold midfielder Nemanja Matic to Manchester United, wants to see at least three to four more signings before the transfer window closes.
There has even been a rumour that English left-back Danny Rose might be looking for a move, with Chelsea are understood to be preparing a £40m bid for the 27-year-old.
