Manchester United star Paul Pogba claims his side's capture of Nemanja Matic has given him more freedom to contribute to the Red Devils' attack.
The 20-time English champions signed Matic from Chelsea earlier this summer as the Serbian international left the Blues for the second time. His move to Old Trafford allowed him to reunite with Jose Mourinho, under whom he won his first title in 2015.
Matic was the man of the match for United as they registered a 4-0 victory over West Ham United. Pogba got his name on the scoresheet and the former Juventus man claims that having the Serbian on the pitch makes him focus more on his side's attack.
"Against West Ham, Matic was starting behind and I could worry more about attacking. I feel good playing that way, but it depends on what the manager wants," Pogba was quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.
"I'm always confident. I always give my best and I know more about the Premier League and I've adapted more with the team.
"When you know the team more, you know how to play alongside them. You get on better. You just get a different feeling. You could see against West Ham, everybody was getting along well and playing for each other."
The France international returned to Old Trafford for the then world-record fee of £89.3m from Juventus. His record transfer fee was broken when Neymar swapped Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain for €222m (£200m) earlier in the summer transfer window.
Pogba won the Europa League and the EFL Cup in his first season since returning to England. However, the midfielder was yet to hit a top form and a part of the reason for that was blamed on having a defensive midifielder on the pitch.
