The Galaxy Note 8 debut happening on Wednesday in New York City could be Samsung's most intense event this year. Following the previous year's Galaxy Note 7 global product recall, the South Korean tech giant is poised to have tightened its quality control for its upcoming flagship smartphone.
In less than 24 hours, Samsung is finally closing the gossip chapter for the Galaxy Note 8 after a year of leaks, unverified rumours and rough speculations. The real smartphone showdown is just about to unfold; Samsung is laying down its cards first on Wednesday and strong rival Apple is set to let loose of its challenger, the iPhone 8, next month.

New S Pen features
No Galaxy Note device is complete without the S Pen. As an approximately US$900 phablet, the Galaxy Note 8 is employing new features for the S Pen. Based on the teaser photos, the stylus will be much bigger than the Galaxy Note 7's.

Bixby Voice
Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus users around the world went gaga when the company finally rolled out the Bixby Voice assistant after half a year. Samsung had a bad start with Bixby Voice's soft launch earlier this week. But as it grows as a full-fledged intelligent voice assistant, Bixby Voice can be a promising feature to make the Galaxy Note 8 a perfect match for the iPhone 8.

New camera
The Galaxy Note 8 is certainly sporting a dual camera. This setup is no longer new in the market, but what Samsung can offer that is fresh and new is the integration of a black-and-white sensor on top of the colour sensor to produce more accurate images in terms of dynamic range.
Peripherals
In today's lifestyle, connectivity matters. It would not come as a surprise if Samsung provides the Galaxy Note 8 with support for Gear 360 camera, Gera VR headset and even Gear S3 smartwatch.
In the meantime, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is touted to rock an "infinity display" screen with no bezels on the side.
