Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed their defender Kyle Walker-Peters has committed his future to the club by signing a new three-year deal on 23 August.
The 20-year-old came up through the ranks of the north London club's academy and made his debut against Newcastle United in their first match of the 2017/18 season. He starred in the right wing-back position as they defeated Tyneside club 2-0 away from home. Walker-Peters new deal will keep him at the club until 2020.
"We are delighted to announce that Kyle Walker-Peters has signed a new contract with the Club until 2020," a statement read on Tottenham's official website.
Tottenham saw their star defender Kyle Walker leave the club and complete a switch to Manchester City earlier in the summer transfer window. The England international's sale saw Spurs collect a fee of over £50m.
Walker-Peters replaced Walker in the right wing-back position for Mauricio Pochettino's side in the opening tie against the Magpies. He won the Under-20 World Cup with England earlier in the summer and impressed in the pre-season friendlies as well.
He will fight with Kieran Trippier for a place in the starting line up in the current campaign. However, the latter is likely to be first choice right-back at Tottenham, with Walker-Peters being his understudy.
