Former porn queen Mia Khalifa has revealed that she had been receiving death threats from the ISIS through a series of mocked-up execution photos on social media.
In a recent interview with The Sports Junkies, the 24-year-old adult star said: "They photoshopped a picture of me being beheaded and threatened that that would happen to me."
"You can't show weakness. That's exactly what they're looking for," she added. "I really try and just make it look like it rolls off, but I'll admit, it gets to you after a while."
The Lebanese-American young star shot to fame with her explicit videos on Pornhub, the world's biggest pornography distributor. Although, she stepped into the industry for a short span of time, but, her brief stint drew a lot of flak as she was branded as a 'disgrace' to the region.
Mia Khalifa was highly criticised for one of her videos that showed her having sex wearing a hijab, a part of traditional female Muslim dress. She was described as 'problematic and gross by many. However, later Khalifa said that it was a satirical take and said: "There are Hollywood movies that depict Muslims in a much worse manner than any scene Bang Bros [the company who made the video] could produce."
But, this is not the first time. Khalifa's choice of career had landed her in a lot of trouble on several occasions. She had admitted to media that her own family has estranged her due to her profession. On Twitter, Khalifa was threatened by several users saying that her head "will be cut soon".
Khalifa now makes her living covering sports and pop culture. Recently, she launched her own channel on the live-streaming service Twitch.
