However, the rollout date has not been provided. Based on the usual process before any software upgrade rolls out, they will have to undergo the testing phase for approximately a couple of weeks and final stage shall immediately follow. For Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus models under mobile carriers, it is likely going to take more time to prepare the operating system upgrade since they will have to fine-tune and customise it according to their brands.
In its features-packed update, Android 8.0 Oreo comes with three of the most notable and useful changes. First, autofill API allows users to register apps as autofill providers to log them in automatically without compromising security. App managers that support this include 1Password, LastPass and Dashlane.
Second, the system upgrade also helps identify which apps running in the background and which are not. As a result, it will automatically kill off those apps running in the background that are not being used to avoid excessive battery life consumption.
Third and lastly, the Picture-in-Picture video allows users to continue watching videos while doing anything else on the screen. Chrome, YouTube and VLC, among others, are now supporting this feature.
