Samsung Electronics Co has just been confirmed working on Android 8.0 Oreo for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus devices. According to a report, the update for the flagship devices is now in development.
SamMobile on Saturday reported that a reliable source that Samsung is now gearing up the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. Firmware version is slated to have the number G955FXXU1BQI1 and G950FXXU1BQI1.

However, the rollout date has not been provided. Based on the usual process before any software upgrade rolls out, they will have to undergo the testing phase for approximately a couple of weeks and final stage shall immediately follow. Hence, Android 8.0 Oreo update for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus is likely to arrive before the year ends.
For Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus models under mobile carriers, it is likely going to take more time to prepare the operating system upgrade since they will have to fine-tune and customise it according to their brands.
In its features-packed update, Android 8.0 Oreo comes with three of the most notable and useful changes. First, autofill API allows users to register apps as autofill providers to log them in automatically without compromising security. App managers that support this include 1Password, LastPass and Dashlane.
Second, the system upgrade also helps identify which apps running in the background and which are not. As a result, it will automatically kill off those apps running in the background that are not being used to avoid excessive battery life consumption.
Third and lastly, the Picture-in-Picture video allows users to continue watching videos while doing anything else on the screen. Chrome, YouTube and VLC, among others, are now supporting this feature.
