Apple's biggest event of the year will finally happen on 12 September for the iPhone 8 and variants launch. The iPhone community has remained baffled about the specifications of the device following a wave of leaks and rumours.
Two confirmed features arriving are the Face ID and full bezel-less display. On Saturday, new details for the forthcoming smartphones have been revealed, including the final monikers of the devices.
iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X
The official names of Apple's next-generation smartphones have been confirmed to be iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. The confirmation came out after well-known iOS developer Sam Troughton-Smith decoded the company's leaked iOS 11 GM firmware.

Per expert analysis, iPhone 8 will come with a 4.7-inch display, iPhone 8 Plus with a 5.5-inch display and iPhone X with 5.5-inch OLED display. Previous rumours and predictions suggest that the much-anticipated Apple smartphones will be called iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus and iPhone 8.
iPhone X colour variants
Meanwhile, the infamous KGI Securities Co Ltd analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, has new details about the front panel of iPhone X. According to his recent report, iPhone X will come in three different colours: blush gold, black and silver. He adds, these colours will be complemented by black front panels.
Face ID sensors
Aside from the colour variants, Kuo has also noted that the Face ID sensor of iPhone X will depend on four modules at the top part of the display. These are the light transmitter, the light receiver, front camera and time of flight or proximity sensor. Kuo has stressed that these components will not only be used for Face ID but for other purposes as well.
