On December 2016, EXID Solji revealed that she will be taking a break from all her schedule due to hyperthyroidism. Though her career was put on hold, the rest of the EXID members— LE, Hani, Hyelin and Jeonghwa—continued with their performance. Later, Solji made a surprise visit during EXID's Asia Tour in Seoul last month but announced that she is not medically fit to continue the activities.
With EXID all set to make a comeback in October, all eyes were on Solji. Fans wondered whether the girl group will perform as a four-member team or will Solji make a dashing comeback? A representative from EXID's agency Banana Culture has said that Solji will be a part of the recording but her presence for the promotional activities is yet to be decided. "Solji plans on participating in the recording for the new album. However, promotional activities require further discussion," All K Pop quoted the rep.
EXID gained an unexpected reach through their 2014 "Up & Down." It reached number one on the Gaon Single Charts selling over 1.7 million digital copies in South Korea—the group's first million-selling hit single. Their first full-length studio album Street with the title track "L.I.E" was released in June 2016. The album—with 13 tracks— claimed the number 2 spot on the Gaon Charts.
