Apple's newly launched flagship smartphones iPhone 8 and 8 plus are slated to be available in Singapore from September 22 and more than 80 diehard Apple fans reached the one and only Apple Store, in Singapore at Orchard Road, on September 21 evening to wait in the queue overnight in order to get their hands on the new iPhones, reported Channel News Asia.
Apple Orchard Road store was inaugurated on May 27, this year and this is the first time the store is hosting such a major launch.
In order to handle the rush, the Apple store's staff gathered the crowd and laid down the rules, reported the publication. Every person present in front of the store, to buy iPhone 8 or 8 Plus, was given a green wristband denoting their position in the queue. They were only allowed to leave the queue for maximum one hour. If anyone exceeded their time limit number would be forfeited, said the store employees.
Channel New Asia encountered one potential buyer in the line, named Trinh Duy Hoai, 32, who flew in two days ago from Vietnam and arrived at the store at 5 pm on September 21. He told the publication that this is the fourth time he is queuing for an iPhone in Singapore. Previously he had done the same for iPhone 6, 6s and 7.

"In Vietnam, we don't get the iPhone on the first day of Apple's release, so we come here," said the mobile seller, who wants to purchase an iPhone 8 Plus in gold colour. "It has a longer battery and a new processor. I love it," Trinh Duy Hoai said to Channel News Asia.
The number one customer in the line, according to the report, was one Mr. Amin Ahmed Dholiya from India. "I feel very good. I was doubting if I could get the phone. Now, I feel very lucky because I am first, so I will definitely get it," said the 43-year-old businessman
Apple iPhone 8 carries a price tag of S$1,148 for the base model and iPhone 8 Plus' price starts from S$1,308 in Singapore.
