Actors Colin Firth, Taron Egerton and Mark Strong went to Seoul to promote their film "Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle," which will be released in South Korea on September 27.
South Korea is the only Asian country that they visited to promote the movie and during a press conference on September 21, they talked about making the film and their experience in Korea.
"We don't go everywhere. We were in the US and the UK, and it was very important that we come here," said Firth.
According to him, "I've had nothing but good experiences with Korean food. Actually, with Korean cinema, I've been fascinated with the country for a long time," the Korea Herald reported.
He is hopeful that the film will be successful given that the 2014 film "Kingsman: The Secret Service" was a hit in Korea.
"Above all I was overwhelmed by the reaction from this country toward the first film. I got so much feedback, people sent me things. I was extremely moved by that and I wanted to come here basically just to express gratitude. And it has been infinitely rewarding. It's left me even more grateful than before, so there will have to be another visit," he said.
Egerton said he has tried "chimaek," or short for chicken and beer in Korean and he loved it.
"I've tried Korean fried chicken with beer and it is absolutely the best. And trust me, I know fried chicken. It's my second trip to Korean and I'm sure there'll be many more," he said.
For the two films, Firth said he underwent physical training.
"My attitude to physical exertion and action in film (in the past) has been, 'bring on the stunt double and I'll have some valuable time in my trailer. So I was surprised when the pain I went through started to become enjoyable," he said.
He added, "I'd reached a point of surprise in my advanced years -- the more physical action, the better. I find it ... simpler than acting, in a strange sort of way."
Strong said he loved the suits that the "Kingsman" movie is known for.
"Somebody once told me that I'm Italian casual, whatever that means. But I do love a nice suit and... being able to wear those fantastic double-breasted suits was a real treat," he said.
