Huawei Maimang 6 to be launched internationally as Mate 10 Lite?

A report says Maimang 6 might be introduced in Munich on 16 October as the Mate 10 Lite.

The recent Huawei Maimang 6 launch in China has sparked new speculation that the country's biggest smartphone manufacturer is keeping the Mate 10 Lite device under wraps.

Huawei is reportedly gearing up to introduce the Maimang 6 smartphone on the global stage as the Mate 10 Lite. Android Authority reports Maimang 6 might be introduced in Munich on 16 October as the Mate 10 Lite. While nothing has been officially pronounced yet, the specifications of Maimang 6 seem to confirm that the new phone is the Mate 10 successor.

The Huawei Maimang 6 sports a 5.9-inch display with 1,080 x 2,160 display in 18:9 aspect ratio. Its internal system runs on the brand's own octa-core Kirin 659 processor at 2.36 gigahertz. On top of that are 4-gigabyte RAM, 64-gigabyte internal memory and 3,340-milliampere battery.

Mobile photography enthusiasts can take delight in its four cameras. The main camera has 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors, while the front shooter has 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors.

In terms of phone security features, Maimang 6 has a fingerprint sensor comfortably sitting at its back panel. The operating system runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and Huawei's own EMUI 5.1 skin.

The phone comes in three colour variants: Obsidian Black, Streamer Gold and Aurora Blue. Maimang 6 pre-orders began Friday at CHY2,399 (about US$364) and shipping will start on 30 September.
