International martial artist and film star Jackie Chan, whose is recently on the news after his daughter Etta came out as gay, has revealed that a third 'Rush Hour' sequel is in the works. The original 'Rush Hour' with Chris Tucker was released in 1998 and spawned two sequels in the years 2001 and 2007. However, Chris Tucker hasn't confirmed his involvement yet.
E! News reported on October 6 that during an appearance on Power 106's The Cruz Show Jackie Chan revealed a fourth 'Rush Hour' movie had been greenlit by him. He said, "For the last 20 years, I've tried different [characters,]" he said, adding, "A few years ago, Karate Kid. There was supposed to be a Karate Kid 2 but the script isn't right. Several years later they want to do it and I say, 'You still want to do Karate Kid? No, Karate Men.' They're taller than me now!" On the other hand, Chan said, "Rush Hour you can do any time... Next year!"

Jackie Chan revealed that a fourth 'Rush Hour' movie was always planned but the scripts kept playing spoilsport. "For the last seven years, we've been turning down the script, turning down the script. Yesterday, we just agreed," he said. Even the new 'Rush Hour' movie had the first draft and now a second draft is being written. "The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft and next year, [we'll] probably start," he said.
However, it all depends on actor Chris Tucker as he has to agree to be a part of the new entry. A 'Rush Hour' without Chris Tucker may be possible but it won't be the same thing. So, Rush Hour 4 will happen when and "If... Chris Tucker agrees," Chan said.
Chan said Chris Tucker's involvement does not come down to the issue of money but time. "It's about [having the] time to make. Otherwise, Rush Hour 4 we're all old men. I tell Chris Tucker, 'Before we get old, please do Rush Hour 4,'" the Hong Kong actor said.
Jackie Chan's latest thriller 'The Foreigner' with ex-James Bond star Pierce Bosnan premiered in Los Angeles on Thursday night. Chan told Variety that he still struggles with speaking English saying, "The only difficult [part] for me is the English," adding, "I had to hear Pierce's Irish accent, but he's so good. He always said, 'Jackie, if you're not comfortable, let me know. I will just repeat.'"
Before the screening for 'The Foreigner' began, Chan told the crowd, "I hope you enjoy my acting. It's not a comedy like 'Rush Hour.' If you don't like it, it doesn't matter because next year we do 'Rush Hour 4.'"
