Barely two weeks before the iPhone X will be available to the public, a new speculation breaks out suggesting an inexpensive versions of Apple's groundbreaking smartphone will be hitting store shelves in 2018.
Chinese publication United Daily News on Thursday reported that Apple is brewing the release of low-cost iPhone X in 2018. Although it remains unconfirmed, the outlet revealed the flagship handset codenamed "Hangzhou" is set for late 2018 debut.

The iPhone X, which is set to arrive on November 3 in select countries, will also be getting a refresh soon as evidenced by a model codenamed "Lisbon", the high-end version of Hangzhou, adds the report. Apple 10th-anniversary iPhone sports a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display with 1,125 x 2,436-pixel resolution. Its salient features are the full-screen display and the new Face ID technology for identification purposes.
With the entry of cheaper iPhone X variant, its specifications are expected to be not as fancy as the original model itself. Internal components might not include the powerful A11 Bionic chipset. However, anticipating fans can expect the bezels to be as thin as nothing and the facial recognition system.

The publication states the iPhone lineup in 2018 will consist of 5.28-inch and 6.46-inch variants. If they are Lisbon and Hangzhou, the smaller version could be the cheaper iPhone X.
While nothing has been officially confirmed, the 2018 iteration of the iPhone X will certainly be a smash hit success judging by the said cheap price tag.
