Only six more days remain for Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo to unite through the bonds of holy matrimony. It has previously been noted that the wedding ceremony will take place at Shilla Hotel. The ceremony will be a private one, with family, friends and close acquaintances gathering. Lee Kwang-soo is one of the closest friends of Song Joong-ki and will be attending the ceremony too. However, he won't be the MC at the wedding.
As noted by website Soompi, it was reported earlier that SongSong couple's wedding will not have any officiant; it will be guided by an MC. Certain Chinese and Taiwanese news outlets had reported that it was Lee Kwang-soo who was chosen to be the MC at Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo's wedding. Unfortunately, a source from Lee Kwang-soo's agency King Kong Entertainment, denied the reports as nothing but unfounded rumours. The source confirmed though, that the actor will be attending the wedding ceremony.

The question that now arises is whether Lee Kwang-soo was ever asked to be the MC at Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo's wedding and whether he declined an offer. It may be noted that on August 4, Song Joong-ki gave an interview to KBSs 'Entertainment Weekly' programme. Here, he was asked to send a video message to one of his close friends and he chose Lee Kwang-soo.
In the message, Song Joong-ki had said, "Kwang Soo, I'll have a new family soon so...I would really like you to stop calling me as much. A person needs to have a bit of tact and awareness in order to live well." The message was meant to be taken lightly and the MC of that show was already laughing. Song Joong-ki himself had laughed and added, "And, it's not wrong or anything but I feel like you're a little lacking in that area. I'm very thankful to you but I wish you would be a little bit more aware."
'Running Man' gives us the impression that Lee Kwang-soo is a sensitive soul. It is possible that he may have gotten a bit angry at being asked by his close friend to "stop calling" him that much. He may also have not liked being told that he lacked awareness. So, it might be a possibility, even if a distant one, that Kwang-soo was asked but denied taking on the MC role in Song Joong-ki's wedding.
As for who might take that responsibility, it was reported earlier that the MC will be a long-time friend of Song Joong-ki. It'd make a lot of sense if that person was Jo In-sung because it was through him that the SongSong couple met. The actor was offered the role of Captain Yoo Si-jin in 'Descendants of the Sun,' which he rejected and recommended Song Joong-ki instead. He had first met Song Joong-ki on the sets of 'A Frozen Flower' in 2008 and became good friends ever since. Jo In-sung had also worked with Song Hye-kyo in 'That Winter, the Wind Blows.'
Lee Kwang-soo is a common friend of Song Joong-ki and Jo In-sung. Also, there cannot be two MCs in a wedding, so Kwang-soo's source might be believed. Whoever is the MC at SongSong couple's wedding, we hope there are no misunderstandings between Lee Kwang-soo and Song Joong-ki.
