After their performance at the American Music Awards (AMAs), Korean boy band BTS will be seen in the annual "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" 2018 to be hosted by Ryan Seacrest on December 31.
Korean media reported that BTS recently recorded their performance for the show but details were not disclosed. Big Hit Entertainment confirmed the report, saying, "It is true that they recorded for 'Dick Clark New Year's Rockin' Eve 2018.'"
This will be the second time that a K-pop act will appear on the annual TV show watched by millions across the US.
In 2012, Psy performed "Gangnam Style" on the TV show together with Yoo Jae Suk and Noh Hong Chul at New York's Times Square.
BTS have already appeared on the TV shows of Jimmy Kimmel and James Corden and will be seen as guests on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
Ellen announced on Twitter this morning that the boys will be on her show. "You know I'm in a K-pop band, right? @bts_twt will be here Monday! #BTSxEllen," she posted.
BTS' performance at the AMAs resulted in the boy band zooming on top of Google search trends in the US on November 19 with more than one million searches.
On a V Live broadcast, BTS opened up about their AMAs performance with many experiencing jitters just before they appeared on stage.
"I've never been this nervous before. I performed somehow but it still doesn't feel like reality yet," said Suga with Jungkook saying that Suga's mic was trembling. Jungkook didn't feel nervous, thinking that their fans were supporting them.
RM revealed, "We made so many promises for future collaborations with artists at the AMAs today!"
BTS's AMAs performance was historic as they became the first K-pop group to appear on the awards show. The Chainsmokers called BTS "international superstars" in their introduction of the idol group.
