Gallup Korea has released the list of Koreans' favorite singers, songs and idol for 2017 based on a poll.
The survey was conducted from July 6 to 26, September 1 to 29 and November 8 to 28 among 4,200 respondents aged 13 to 59.
Solo artist IU topped the survey of favorite singers with 15.2 percent. She has swept music charts every year since her debut and this year, she released the album "Palette."
Second is girl group TWICE with 9.1 percent. The group released the albums "Twicecoaster: Lane 1" in February and "Signal" last May which both topped music charts. Trot singer Jang Yun-jeong placed third with 8.9 percent
Fourth is boy band BTS with 8.5 percent. Their achieved success this year not only in Korea but worldwide with their albums "Wings" and "Love Yourself: Her."
Singer and TV personality Yoon Jong Shin grabbed fifth place with 7.3 percent. He topped music charts and won awards for his song "Like It" that was released this year.
Rookie boy band Wanna One placed sixth with 7.1 percent followed by EXO with 5.7 percent, Big Bang and Lim Chang Jung with 5 percent, and Lee Sun Hee with 4.5 percent.
Placing 11th to 20th are Psy, Red Velvet and Hong Jin Young (4.2 percent), Na Hoona (3.8 percent), Lee Seung Chul (3.6 percent), Kim Gun-mo (3.3 percent), Lee Moon Se (3.2 percent), Park Hyo Shin (3.1 percent), Hwang Chi Yeul (3 percent), and Kim Bum Soo and Girls' Generation (2.9 percent).
The favorite songs of Koreans in 2017 are:
1. Yoon Jong Shin's "Like It" - 8.8 percent
2. IU's "Through the Night" - 4.3 percent
3. IU's "Autumn Morning" - 4.2 percent
4. Jang Yun-jeong's "Call the Soul" - 3.3 percent
5. Red Velvet's "Red Flavor" - 2.9 percent
6. BTS' "DNA" and Jin Sung's "In Andong Station" - 2.7 percent
8. TWICE's "TT" and Wanna One's "Pick Me" - 2.5 percent
10. Psy's "New Face" - 2 percent
