SHINee's Jonghyun's farewell took place in Seoul in the presence of close family and friends. The rest of the band's members presided the function as the key mourner. Minho led the funeral with the name card while Taemin, Onew, Key, Eunhyuk, Leeteuk, and Donghae carried the coffin.
Meanwhile, Jonghyun's fellow band member Key has posted a heartbreaking, handwritten farewell note on his Instagram account. The touching letter expressed Key's love and affection for Jonghyun. He also regretted the fact that he couldn't spend more time with his friend when he was lonely and depressed. "I'm sorry for not being there for you, for not being your strength when you were lonely and depressed."
He further added, "We (both) were the most stubborn members of the group and we did everything together. But today you made the decision without me and you left first. I am going to miss you for a really long time. You always stood by my side, now I will have to learn to live without you."
Key concluded the letter with a heartbreaking goodbye and also promised that he would be there for Jonghyun's mother and sister always. "I will look after them like my family," he said. Key finally promised his Hyung that he will lead a better life and Jonghyun was the best artist, friend and partner that he has ever met.
