Fifty percent of Russian youths want to end the war in Ukraine according to a secret survey conducted by the Kremlin. The survey, which has been obtained by Russian media, shows that a large number of people in Russia are not supporting President Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine.
According to the results of the same poll, in the age group 18-24 years, 56% are in favour of ending the war, and only 19% are in favour of continuing it. Among Russians aged 25–34, 43% support the end of the war, 41% the continuation of hostilities, reported Pravda.
In all, 30% of total Russians want to end the Ukraine war immediately. The poll was conducted by the Kremlin at end of the June and it was obtained by Meduza.
Russian Youths Oppose The War
In the closed poll of the WCIOM (All-Russian Centre for the Study of Public Opinion), respondents were asked 'Some say that the hostilities in Ukraine should be stopped as soon as possible. Others believe that hostilities should not be stopped now. Which point of view is closest to your own – the first or the second?'
Older Respondents Support Ukraine War
The survey has shown that a large number of young Russians are opposing the war, a key indication that they are facing trouble and could soon take to the streets in large numbers to oppose the war.
But the older respondents are in the favor of the war. People over the age of 60 are supporting Putin's Ukraine invasion. Nearly 72% of the respondents over the age of 60 believe Putin should continue Russia's war with Ukraine, according to the survey.
