Who is Kathryn Mayorga? Model Accusing Cristiano Ronaldo of Rape Appeals Against Dismissal of £54Million Case

The woman who accused Cristiano Ronaldo of rape has appealed against the dismissal of the £54million case. The case is set to be first heard on Tuesday by a mediator in a one-hour phone hearing.

Kathryn Mayorga alleges that Ronaldo raped her in 2009 in a Las Vegas hotel room. Although, at that time, she had accepted £275,000 in a hush-hush agreement.

Later, Mayorga reignited the case as her legal team claimed that she signed the deal under duress.

Mayorga's Case Was Dismissed

Mayorga's case was dismissed in June as the Judge claimed that her legal time was relying on certain leaked documents that she passed to cops from the Football Leaks site.

Now she has appealed against the dismissal at the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Ronaldo Denies Any Wrongdoing

Ronaldo has always denied any wrongdoing and maintains his relations with Ms Mayorga were consensual. A criminal probe was opened but in 2019 a District Attorney announced he would not face prosecution, according to The Sun.

According to Mayorga, the rape happened in the early hours of June 13, 2009. At the time of the alleged rape, Ronaldo, who claims that the sex was consensual, was in Las Vegas on holiday with his brother-in-law and cousin.

At that time Mayorga was a budding model and also used to work in Rain nightclub, inside the Palms Casino Resort. It's believed that she would have met Ronaldo in the resort's VIP area.

Mayorga Claims She Suffered Clinical Depression After Rape

According to Mayorga, she had suffered clinical depression and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder following the alleged rape.

In the legal papers, Mayorga claimed that "Cristiano Ronaldo pulled the plaintiff into a bedroom and onto a bed and attempted to engage in sexual intercourse. It said the plaintiff refused, tried to cover herself and was screaming: No, no, no," according to The Sun.

In the papers, Mayorga also claimed that "When Cristiano Ronaldo completed the sexual assault, he allowed her to leave the bedroom stating he was sorry, he was usually a gentleman."
