Days after Paul Pelosi, the husband of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, suffered head injuries during a home intrusion by David Depape, a new theory about a possible 'threesome' involving a "mystery person" has evolved on social media. Earlier, speculations about Depape being known to his victim had gone viral.

The 42-year-old allegedly assaulted Paul with a hammer after invading the couple's house on Friday morning. Addressing a news conference, San Francisco Police Chief William Scott said that the Paul had called 911 and left the line open as he continued to interact with his attacker. He said that during the call, Paul was talking in code and provided enough details so that the operator listening in would understand that the caller was in trouble. Following the call, the police came over to check on the house within three minutes.

Politico reported that when officers arrived at the house, they "knocked on the front door and were let inside by an unknown person." This excerpt soon went viral on social media leading to the speculations about a third person present at the scene.

The Washington Examiner reported that following the rumors, San Francisco police clarified that there were only two people in the home at the time of the break-in: Paul Pelosi and the suspect, 42-year-old David DePape.

Speculations About Threesome Gain Momentum

Social Media sleuths also raised questions about the video which showed the broken window through which DePape entered the house.

It showed pieces of shattered glass lying outside the window.

"Paul Pelosi was with his gay lover, the person who answered the door, they had hired DePape for a threesome. Argument ensued over drugs or money. Hammers were involved, police were called," read another tweet.
