Angelina Jolie has severed all ties with Brad Pitt after filing for divorce. The 41-year-old actress reportedly filed legal documents on 19 September citing irreconcilable differences.
A source told Us Weekly: "Angelina is devastated that it has come to this, but will do everything in her power to protect her family."
"Angelina has blocked all incoming text messages and also Brad's numbers," the insider added.
Pitt has apparently contacted Jolie's father Jon Voight to help the two to reconcile their relationship. A source told the Daily Mirror: "Brad [Pitt] has made an effort to make contact and is keen to try and improve the situation between them. He's hoping his good relationship with Angelina [Jolie]'s family will help to build bridges. He's spoken to her dad Jon [Voight] and hopes he may be able to play peacemaker. It's a very tricky time for the family but Brad hasn't given up hope yet."
Meanwhile, Pitt has said he is "very saddened" that Jolie has filed for divorce. He told People magazine: "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."
