Singer Baek Ji Young and husband Jung Suk Won are expecting their first child together. The pop ballad artist who is eight weeks into her pregnancy, has taken a hiatus from all her scheduled activities.
Ji Young's agency, Music Works, broke the pregnancy news on Thursday. The statement read: "Baek Ji-young is currently eight weeks pregnant. She and her husband are overjoyed at the news."
As per Chosun, Ji Young has cancelled all of the upcoming shows in her ongoing Korean tour. The agency reportedly stated that her health is their top priority.
The 40-year-old singer married actor Jung Suk Won in 2013. Unfortunately, she suffered a miscarriage four months into her pregnancy.
Ji Young, who was completely shattered from the hapless news, opened about her miscarriage in an early interview. She gives all the credit to her actor-husband for her sound health and recovery. She said: "At the time, my husband Jung Suk Won became a strong support as a father and son-in-law. He was very faithful. He made me laugh a lot at the hospital. We took a photo at the time, and after looking back on it after a long time, the film 'Life Is Beautiful' came to mind."
