Brad Pitt reportedly met his children for the first time since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in September. The 52-year-old actor apparently received 90-minutes to meet his children according to a temporary plan recommended by DCFS (Department of Children Family Services).
A source told In Touch magazine: "It was a very emotional meeting."
"Once the kids came in, Brad lit up. He had tears in his eyes and tried to hold it together because he didn't want them to get upset because he was crying," the insider added.
"Brad told them this situation with the social workers absolutely wasn't their fault and that no one was in trouble," the source explained. "The visit was gut-wrenching: Vivienne and Zahara both started crying, asking when they could go home. He said it would be soon."
Pitt and Jolie fell in love on the sets of their 2004 movie Mr and Mrs Smith. The couple tied the knot on 23 August 2014.
However, things took a turn for the worse when the 41-year-old actress reportedly filed legal documents on 19 September citing irreconcilable differences. Her attorney Robert Offer said in a statement: "This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time."
Many media reports were making rounds stating that Pitt was physically abusive to his children. He also reportedly got physical with their oldest son, Maddox, during a fight on the family's private plane.
