Korean boy band BTS and the original soundtrack (OST) from the hit TV drama "Goblin" topped music charts in the first half of 2017. The band took the top spot in the album chart with "You Never Walk Alone" selling 729,295, according to Yonhap News.
GOT7's "Flight Log: Arrival" finished second with 331,302 followed by Seventeen's "AI1," 297,672; TWICE's "TWICEcoaster: LANE 2," 279,363; TWICE's SIGNAL," 263,523; Big Bang's "MADE," 153,839; Girls' Generation leader Taeyeon's "My Voice," 143,664; Monsta X's "The Clan, pt.2.5 [BEAUTIFUL]," 127,307; Highlight's "Can You Feel It?," 115,606; and NCT 127's "NCT #127 LIMITLESS," 110,865.
In the digital chart, "Goblin" OST "I Will Go To You Like The First Snow" by Ailee is No. 1 followed by Akdong Musician's "Last Goodbye"; TWICE's "Knock Knock"; Bolbbalgan4's "Tell Me You Love Me"; Crush's "Beautiful" ("Goblin" OST); EXO member Chanyeol and Punch's "Stay With Me" ("Goblin" OST); Red Velvet's "Rookie"; IU's "Through the Night"; Soyou's "I Miss You" ("Goblin" OST); and Big Bang's "FXXK IT."
The list is based on sales on the Gaon Chart from January 1 to June 17 this year.
"You Never Walk Alone," released last February, is the repackaged version of BTS' album "Wings," which was issued in October.
The re-released album debuted at No. 61 on Billboard 200, No. 1 on Billboard's World Albums chart while "Spring Day" debuted at No. 1 on World Digital Songs Sales.
With "Spring Day," BTS won four TV music show trophies on "Show Champion," "M Countdown," "Music Bank" and "Inkigayo."
On the other hand, the songs from "Goblin" achieved popularity due to the drama's phenomenal ratings.
"Goblin" aired from December last year to January this year and starred Gong Yoo, Kim Go-eun, Lee Dong-wook, Yoo In-na and Sung-jae.
Its final episode got a rating of 18.68 percent to achieve the second highest rating for a drama on Korean cable TV.
