Capcom has officially released the name of the new character that is joining the Street Fighter V's roster of fighters. The newest addition is going to be Menat, The Eyes of the Future. This character will be available to download on and from August 29, 2017.
The company had previously teased Menat hinting that the new character would be revealed during the Hong Kong eSports Festival 2017 "Top 8" competition. Watching the teaser, several fans had guessed that it would, indeed, be Menat, also known as the Fortune Teller, as the Twitter announcement of the teaser featured a crystal ball.
"Menat seems to be heavily based around her crystal ball, which she uses for a variety of mix ups, combos and attacks," said Jonathan 'Catalyst' Grey at the Event Hubs blog. "It's also a juggling tool. She even has a dive kick which looks to be effective in baiting throws." He also added, "Rounding out some of the other moves showcased in the trailer, she appears to have a slide attack, and a reflect move to deal with projectiles. Her V-Trigger summons six orbs on screen, and they attack the opponent one at a time, plus can be used in conjunction with her crystal ball."
This Egyptian mystic character was first hinted at during Ed's story mode cutscenes as Rose's apprentice. She appeared to be quite similar to the silhouette in the Street Fighter V's Season 2 teaser image.

The newly introduced fighter of the Street Fighter V, Menat will have three outfits – standard costume, campaign mode look, and battle costume. Other than Menat, many more characters of the game will receive new costumes as a part of the 30th-anniversary celebration. The new costumes will be available when the DLC comes out.
Capcom is, definitely, doing well on its promise to keeping things lively following the launch of Street Fighter V. The second season of Street Fighter V has already given us the return of Akuma and has also introduces introduced characters such as Kolin, Ed and Abigail. The addition of Menat takes the total numbers of fighters on the roster to 27. As per the various leaks over the Internet, as of yet, it seems pretty definite that, Guy's master Zeku will most likely be the last character to be added this season.
Street Fighter V was released across the world last year on February 16 and is now available for Microsoft, Windows and PlayStation 4.
