Anime series Cardcaptor Sakura, which was first aired in1998, promised its fans a huge comeback in 2018 with a sequel for the show titled as Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc.
The last season of the popular anime, written and illustrated by the manga group Clamp, Cardcaptor Sakura: The Sealed Card concluded in 2001. The Clamp also confirmed that the later story of the manga which was in Nakayoshi magazine will be made into a show and be aired from January 2018.
It was also revealed that the series will pick up the story from where the last season left it. Anime News Network reported that the series will revolve around protagonist Sakura's life as a student of the junior high school after graduating from Tomoeda Elementary School. It was also said that the story will revolve around the adventures of the young heroine.
Adding to the joy of the fans, it was also reported that all the old characters like Li Syaoran and Tomoyo will make a comeback after 15 years and even the casting of them will be same.
Cardcaptor Sakura, no doubt, is one of the celebrated anime series ever produced. Not only this, the manga series was awarded the Seiun Award for Best Manga in 2001 and the anime television series was awarded the Animage Grand Prix prize for Best Anime in 1999.
