As with Sanchez and Ozil, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has consistently said he wants Oxlade-Chamberlain to stay at the Emirates in the long-term.

Chelsea have agreed a fee worth £35mwith Arsenal for England international winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sky Sports News understands.

The England international is with the England squad at St George's Park and Sky Sports News understands large parts of a medical could be carried out at England's training centre.

24-year-old Oxlade-Chamberlain, has refused to sign a new deal at Emirates Stadium, which would have seen his weekly wage rise to £180,000.

We understand Oxlade-Chamberlain met with Wenger before their weekend trip to Liverpool to talk about his future, although he was named in the starting line-up for the 4-0 defeat at Anfield.

Oxlade-Chamberlain had also been mooted as a target for Liverpool but appears set to stay in London with the reigning Premier League champions, as per the Express.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has started every game for the Gunners so far this season, including Sunday's 4-0 defeat at Liverpool, when he was substituted.

The midfielder would be Chelsea's fifth major signing of the summer following the arrivals of striker Alvaro Morata, goalkeeper Willy Caballero, defender Antonio Rudiger and midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte had made it clear he wanted to add further to his squad before the transfer window closes on Thursday.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has made 198 appearances for Arsenal since joining them from Southampton in August 2011, would be the first arrival since the Italian said he wanted to sign four more players.

The Blues have allowed a host of players - including defenders John Terry, Nathan Ake and Kurt Zouma, and midfielder Nemanja Matic - to leave this summer, while last season's top scorer Diego Costa has been told he can leave.
