Overview
Chelsea registered a comfortable 2-0 win over Hull City in their last Premier League clash. Diego Costa opened the scoring just before the break and defender Gary Cahill doubled the lead late in the game.
However, the result was not the talking point of the match. Hull midfielder Ryan Mason suffered a skull fracture after his head clashed with Cahill in the first half. He underwent surgery and was in a stable condition, as confirmed by his club.
In the third round of the FA Cup tie, the Premier League leaders registered a crushing 4-1 win over Peterborough United. The fixture also saw Chelsea captain John Terry receive a red card. Antonio Conte will be pushing for another win in front of the home fans on Sunday.
Brentford also registered a 5-1 crushing win over Eastleigh in the third round of the FA Cup. However, this time around, their opponents are way too tough and have better quality than their previous opponent in the FA Cup tie.
