South Korean actress Clara Lee has revealed how she started her career. The 31-year-old Swiss-born actress made her debut in 2005 and starred in her first film in 2009, Five Senses of Eros, along with Song Joong Ki.
During an interview with International bnt, the model, better known by her mononym, Clara, admitted she had her parents support to enter the entertainment industry. She said: "My mom encouraged me. When I was living in the U.S., I got picked by SM Entertainment and JYP while walking down the street. I wasn't interested, but my mom wanted me to try it out in Korea."
"So I came to Korea and had a meeting with SM Entertainment right away. I even met up with Lee Soo Man, but my father wanted me to become an actor rather than a singer, so I didn't end up with SM," Clara added.
Adding on, Clara, who rose to international fame after appearing in Jay Park's Joah music video, talked about her latest film. She said: "For my next film, I am in a Chinese movie as a warrior. The director asked me to dye my hair grey to portray both sexiness and purity. I am not famous overseas even though that's where I mainly work these days. Some people recognize me in Taiwan and Hong Kong."
