Uncontrollably Fond
Starring Suzy Bae and Kim Woo Bin, the drama narrated the love story between a struggling documentary filmmaker and a dying K-pop star. To add further, the lead pair shared a close bond during their childhood but drifted apart due to situations. The drama opened to amazing rating but lost the focus mid-way but the makers managed to end it on a high note.
Cheese in the Trap
The drama focuses on the life and relationships of a group of university students, particularly the difficult relationship between Hong Seol (Kim Go-eun) and her senior Yoo Jung (Park Hae-jin). The psychopathic tendencies exhibited by Jung created a lot of curiosity among fans.
The K2
We call it a perfect love thriller. The thrilling action scenes by Ji Chang-Wook, Song Yoon-ah's evil plans, and Im Yoon-ah's innocence added more value and raised the bar. The drama was also highly praised for its sleek production quality. The plot revolves around an abandoned secret service agent, who ends up as a bodyguard to the presidential candidate's secret heir.
W–Two Worlds
Based on a webcomic, the drama narrates the story of Kang Cheol (Jong Suk) and a real-life surgeon, (Hyo Joo) who live in parallel universes. A particular incident allows her to travel to the comic world. The drama was highly praised for its unique storyline.
Moonlight Drawn By Clouds
Just like its title, this drama is beautifully etched through the Joseon dynasty with colorful visuals, lush greeneries, and an interesting storyline. It narrates the story of a prince, who falls in love with a woman who is pretending to be his eunuch. The drama became so popular that Kpop Starz named its as 'Moonlight Syndrome.'
Moon Lovers – Scarlet Heart: Ryeo
Another colourful drama set in the Goryeo Dynasty. Lee Ji-Eun (Hae Soo) finds herself in the Goryeo Dynasty after an accident. Then, she meet 10 princes, who later indulge in a tug of war for the throne. She also shares a special bond with Prince Lee Wang Wook (Kang Ha-neul), but later Prince Wang So (Lee Joon-gi) wins her. Although, the show was an average hit in Korea, it received raving responses in other parts of the world.
Doctors
With close to a 20 percent national viewership level, Doctors had a stunning chemistry between the rebellious high school girl, Yoo Hye Jung (Park-Shin Hye) and her mentor Hong Ji Hong (Kim Rae Won).
Cinderella And Four Knights
Now, this needs no explanation. As the title suggests, the story revolves around Park So Dam (Eun Ha Won), who is assigned with the task of reuniting Kang Group's chairman with his grandsons.
Descendants Of The Sun
And, finally the most popular drama of 2016. Set in the military backdrop, it narrates the relationship between Captain Yoo Shi Jin (Song Joong Ki) and Dr. Kang Mo Yeon (Song Hye Kyo). And, the rest is for you to watch and learn.

Lee Min Ho's Legend of the Deep Blue Sea and Gong Yoo's Goblin , which started airing towards the end of the year, has broken all the records to fight for the number one spot. Both the dramas are on its midway and the war is on for the top spot.
