Marvel's The Defenders trailer is already out and it came out to be more explosive than it was expected. And, why not, the upcoming Netflix show is set to bring together Charlie Cox, Mike Colter, Krysten Ritter, and Finn Jones as the superheroes of Hell's Kitchen.
Not only the superheroes, but the supporting characters of each of the superhero also is to return in the show which include Foggy Nelson, Misty Knight, Patsy Walker, Karen Page, Colleen Wing and Claire Temple.
Elodie Yung is returning as Elektra, the fan-favorite from Daredevil Season 2, who was Matthew Murdock's past lover as well as partner in crime.
In Daredevil Season 2, she was shown as dead but her body was taken by The Hand who placed it in a concrete coffin. It was speculated that she will return and will revive as the Black Sky. Well, the new trailer of The Defenders trailer hints the same.
In the said teaser, glimpses of the superheroes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist are featured and how they meet each other.
Elektra's abilities are not unknown as she showed off quite a bit of it in the Daredevil Season 2. Moreover, the fact that Elektra is with The Hand now and he has control of her makes Elektra a force that the fans would eagerly wait to watch out for.
According to Yibada, Sigourney Weaver who was featured in the trailer previously confirmed to EW that Weaver is playing a villain called Alexandra. Also, the showrunner Marco Ramirez mentioned, "Her character is a very powerful force in New York City. She's everything Sigourney is: sophisticated, intellectual, dangerous."
Apart from that not much is known about Weaver's character. She herself described her character saying, "Basically the four heroes come up against this really nice woman, who I'm playing. It's been a blast and I really love my character."
