In an interview with Marie Claire, world's highest-paid female DJ Paris Hilton has opened up on the infamous sex tape leak in 2004. The actress revealed that she was highly traumatised with the incident and it even ruined her dream role of Being like Princess Diana.
The former reality star also added that the leak was masterminded by her then-boyfriend Rick Salomon which damaged her social image immeasurably. The actress opened her mind during the launch of a new fragrance line.
A report on Stuff published excerpts from the interview. "It's really hurtful, because my whole life I really looked up to Princess Diana, all these elegant, amazing women, and I feel like [Salomon] just took that all away from me. I could have been like that, but because of that tape, I will always be judged and thought of as whatever they say about me because of a private moment between my boyfriend and me. I wish I had never met him," the hotel heiress was quoted saying. The tape had footages of Hilton having sex with her ex-boyfriend. She was 18 years when the tapes leaked.
The star also regretted meeting Rick Salmon in her life as the tape's release had crippled her life quite literally. "That is actually the one regret in my life. I wish that I had never met that guy. I could not leave my house for months. I was so depressed, humiliated. I didn't want to be seen in public."
Fox News quoted the actress claiming that Rick earned $10 million from the tape after it was released. When asked more on this, she was quoted saying, "That's one thing that really pisses me off when I hear it, because I never, ever received one dollar from that video. That is the last thing that I would want out there." Hilton is currently dating actor Chris Zylka.
