US President Donald Trump had a strange response to the 17 August Barcelona terror attack where he repeated a war myth about former US general John Pershing. More than 100 years ago, Pershing, who was governor of Moro province in the Philippines, between 1909 and 1913, apparently dipped bullets in pigs blood to fight Muslim insurgents, Trump claimed. However, historians and fact checkers say the Republicans claims are false.
