Drake is reportedly happy that Nicki Minaj has split with Meek Mill. The Starships singer confirmed that she is single on her social media account.
Minaj tweeted: "To confirm, yes I am single. Focusing on my work & looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon. Have a blessed New Year. Love u"
According to Hollywood Life, the Canadian rapper reportedly sent a few text messages to Minaj after the Twitter post. A source said: "Drake shot Nicki a few texts after hearing she broke up with that loser Meek."
"Drake's hella happy they're over but wants to make sure that Nicki's cool and that she's not hurting or anything. He cares about her and certainly wants to be there for her and be a shoulder for her to lean on and talk to during this breakup," the insider added.
Adding on, Drake's rumored girlfriend Jennifer Lopez is not jealous of their bond. The source continued: "Things with Drake and JLo couldn't be better. They're going strong [and] Drake doesn't want JLo to feel threatened or anything. But make no mistake he's going to be there for Nicki. That's his girl. His friend. She's like family. They have a five year plus friendship and that means everything to him. He's going to be there for Nicki during this time."
Previously, Minaj had opened up about her fantasy of running away with Drake and getting married. In an interview with i-D, the rapper gushed about her ideal man. She said: "One day I will run away with Drake and get married, but right now it's just a fantasy."
