Ellen DeGeneres is celebrating her 9th wedding anniversary with Portia De Rossi. The Oscar host married the Australian-American actress in 2008 at their home in Beverly Hills after the state of California lifted its ban on same-sex marriages.
The 59-year-old talk show host shared a black-and-white photo from her wedding day on Instagram. She captioned the image: "@PortiadeRossi and I got married 9 years ago today. Being her wife is the greatest thing I am."
Adding on, she posted a video of her first show after tying the knot back in 2008, on Facebook. The video featured adorable photos from their wedding day.
Meanwhile, the former Scandal star also took to her Instagram account to celebrate their special day. In the photo, the duo can be seen enjoying a candle light dinner date. She wrote: "We've been together so long that not only do we look like kids in this picture, but it was taken with a camera! Happy 9th, Thing."
DeGeneres had recently opened up about her bond with Portia de Rossi. During an interview with Good Housekeeping, the 59-year-old gushed about her wife. She said: "Portia understands me completely. In our vows, she recited a quote — 'It is good to be loved. It is profound to be understood' — and to me, that's everything. What 'I love you' really means is 'I understand you,' and she loves me for everything that I am. She supports me and makes me happy."
