American talk show host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are reportedly planning to have a baby. The couple are allegedly taking this extreme step to save their marriage.
A source told Radar Online: "For once they are in sync. But Ellen wants to adopt and Portia wants a surrogate."
The duo are apparently designing a nursery in their Beverly Hills home. The insider shared: "They're buying the crib and other furniture, toys and books to furnish the room, and they're using gender-neutral colors. Now Ellen and Portia are closer than ever, and can't wait to welcome a baby into their lives."
Meanwhile, DeGeneres had previously opened up about her decision not to have children. The Oscar host revealed she and Rossi do not regret about not expanding their family.
During an interview with Sunday Style, DeGeneres said: "We talked about it for a minute, about four years into the relationship, but we just decided we like our conversations not being interrupted and our furniture without sticky grape juice on it."
"This morning we just lay in bed, had coffee and laughed because they are so adorable, the way they play. Also, I think in this profession it can be really tough for children."
She added: "It's hard for them to have to share their parents with the world. I even see it with my nieces. When we're out in public and people want to talk to me they're like, 'Why does everybody want your time? Why aren't you just with me?'"
